We would have had to get a side car in order to get a twinax card, because we
have the IXS card - 3 slots, IIRC. Personally I get along fine with Ops Console
- but I don't use it from iSeries Access - I use the option in PCOMM that does
the same thing. Host type is iSeries, interface is COM port, and attachment is
SNA-over-Async (Console).

Quite right; that extra slot can be pretty expensive just to use for a
console.

On a small config it makes a big difference

And all this talk of twinax is just pointless when you do not have a
twinax card.

Heh!!

Hi Aaron
-snip-
console options to set up, partly because it has the weakest
documentation.

For those championing twinax, I don't disagree with the general
thrust of what has been said (it IS simple) but it is worth keeping
in mind that you would quite likely have some similar problems
getting a console at initial set-up if the box is not shipped as
configured for a twinax console. This doesn't always happen as I know
from personal experience (which is party how I became familiar with
some of the items above)
