I'm guessing the answer to that question may be along the lines of: A
"thin console" expresses a perspective of hardware architecture that
defines the use of loosely coupled hardware services to support the
requirements of the business processes and hardware users. In an thin
console environment, resources on a network[1] are made available as
independent services that can be accessed without knowledge of their
underlying platform implementation.
Yeah, that's about as helpful as the definition of SOA <grin>.
