I just ran into something really strange: a customer is reporting a problem with OPNQRYF on a mostly-Unicode file, with Unicode keys, and a Unicode field in the QRYSLT clause: if he tried to do the query from within our QuestView product, it was returning some really weird errors.

If I try it on his file, on our V5R1 box, I get a much more obvious problem: OPNQRYF doesn't work at all with a QRYSLT on a Unicode field. Nor, once I realized I was doing a QRYSLT on a Unicode field, was I surprised that it didn't work: I've never heard of OPNQRYF getting along with Unicode at all.

Was OPNQRYF recently updated to allow QRYSLTs on Unicode fields? If so, when? Obviously not V5R1.
