Developer wants to CRTDUPOBJ QAQQINI into a work library, maybe even
QTEMP. Then do a CHGQRYA and use that. However he can't do a CRTDUPOBJ

the CRTDUPOBJ. With our change management software it's pretty easy for
any developer to create any program that does an adoption of authority so
I do appreciate that they at least ask on occasion for alternatives. (The
things that some of them do with pre run commands is disconcerting.)

Any suggestions on the duplication of QAQQINI, or just do the adoption?

How about using:
CPYF FROMFILE(QSYS/QAQQINI) TOFILE(QTEMP/QAQQINI) CRTFILE(*YES)
