Hi all, I need to change an (RPG) application to export to XML and
import
from XML.

Have you looked at the XML Extenders for the iSeries? You would then
use embedded SQL. I believe.

FWIW, my understanding is that the XML Extenders are currently restricted
to working with DTDs, and do not have any facility for working with
schemas. I haven't had to produce XML yet, but for consuming XML
documents I use the EXPAT XML parser (ported to OS/400 by Scott Klement,
www.scottklement.com). If a project were to come up for producing XML, I
would probably use the CGIDEV2 functionality. I believe there are
examples of this available on the web, perhaps even in the archives for
this list or the RPG-400 list.

HTH,
Adam
