Have you looked at the XML Extenders for the iSeries? You would then use embedded SQL. I believe.

Hi all, I need to change an (RPG) application to export to XML and import
from XML.

Actually the application process some files and generate a txt file in the
Ifs: the rpg program fills an external DS and an utility writes it on Ifs
with the format I need (flat file, csv, xls but not XML).

The file is then processed and come back in the same format.

Now I must switch to XML so I'm looking for the SIMPLEST way to:

- get a schema from the external defined DS
- convert a DB400 file to XML
- convert the XML file into the DB400 file

I'm not expecting errors in the returning data since the PC program just has
to fill some missing data and give back the file.

Must be at V5R3.

Thanks in advance

Marco
