Save yourself downtime.  Load it to all while they are running fat dumb 
and happy.  IPL them later.
GO PTF
8. Install program temporary fix package
Automatic IPL . . . . . .   N

That will load the PTF on to that machine.  Repeat for each lpar.  Then 
when you're ready to IPL you don't have downtime on each feeding the 
animal.

Then do the IPL in this order
Non controlling partitions first:  PWRDWNSYS RESTART(*NO)
Then your controlling partition:  PWRDWNSYS RESTART(*YES)
Then start your other lpars, (if they don't start automatically after 
IPLing the first.  Verify IPL on your primary partition with
STRSST
5. Work with system partitions
2. Work with partition status

V5R3 is a little old with me, but I think it supports WRKPTFGRP.  Your new 
cume should show there.  If not there then on DSPPTF with no options.
