Well, yeah, kinda, um, but, then you gotta have a LOT more disk than I
have available to me. That's why I stopped looking in that direction.
I'd LOVE to hear some of your grandfather's stories... OTOH, I AM a
grandfather, and started with a SYS 3 mod 10 card system back in '70. So
I spoz I have a few stories of my own... :-)

BTW, I was *thinking* about using the term "monkey", but didn't know if
that would be PC on this forum!!

Wow you flip CD's during an upgrade? I've heard my grandfather talk
about that...
No, just kidding. I always use virtual media, even on local upgrades.
Know how fun it is to be halfway into an upgrade just to find the 10th
CD is bad? You just don't have that problem with virtual media.
You're right, it might take a huge pipe to distribute them remotely.
However you could have a monkey load the CD's for you at the remote site
while you execute the commands to add the image catalogs into virtual
media - ahead of time. Then when you do the upgrade you're ready to
rock and roll.

Yup, a number of them. If you drink coffee, put the pot on - and, BTW,
you gotta have a person at the other end to flip CDs...

You are supposed to be able to get around this by putting the CDs on the
system ahead of time - but you've still got to have someone at the
remote site to do this, or have a REAL BIG PIPE to send your data
through...

Hello everyone,

Has anyone been involved in version/release upgrade from a central site
to a remote site. The company I work for is contemplating doing this
for some of our customers.

Sincerely,
Bill Swann
