(I have tried several times) The problem is not the version of VMWare, the problem is in the integration code for running Linux/Windows on an iSCSI or HSL/RIO loop. The support is just not there. Running VMWare in a partition would be a bit redundant would it not? The best way to eliminate the IXS/IXA constraint is to use iSCSI. It works very well, although it is a bit more complicated to set up and is significantly more flexible that IXA/IXS. Watch IBM and VMWare for announcements in this space.
