just my opinion..
I've got to assume all software and products working on a current release will work on future releases, unless specifically stated otherwise. Now, it may be specifically stated in one of many different docs or web areas.... which hopefully get updated before release time. I imagine they are always working xx months ahead
on a future release and here we are trying to determine v5r3 & 4....
later

I know that. I was pointing out how confusing the whole Infocenter is. If
I had stumbled across this page trying to find out (as the original poster
was) about using 5798-FAX on V5R4 on an i5, then I would come away with the conclusion of . . . I don't really know. I would just know it didn't answer
my question. Don't get me wrong, Cindy has helped me before with the fax
product and (IIRC) IPP, and she really knows her stuff.

<tic> (sort of)
I just think the whole computer universe has gotten so complex there is no
such thing as a straight answer anymore.

Infer this: Instead of keeping 2 or 3 direct sites updated,
IBM overlaps information in 27 different sites and loses
track of all the sites. That other link I provided earlier
specifically mentions support for V5R4. And that was sent to
me by Cindy.

Hi Cindy!

The document at that link does not refer to V5R4 at all.

Are we to infer anything there . . .
