I did see that reference and you can tell the Inforprint server PDF
conversion config to respool the PDF file which it does just fine but it
sends a pdf data stream to the printer attached to the queue and does
not translate it to PCL or whatever the native language of the printer
is. There are some printers on the market (Xerox is one I know of for
sure) that supports PDF translation inside the printer and you can FTP a
PDF file to the printer and it will print it.

Does anyone know of a way to send a PDF document from the IFS
directly
to a non IPDS/AFP network attached laser printer
(Lexmark/HP/IBM/etc)
?

If you set your iseries printers as shareable with PC clients, they

should
be able to retrieve the PDF, and print them. I've never tried to
print
a
PDF file programatically from the System i.

I just reviewed the Introduction and Planning Guide for Infoprint
Server
for iSeries (G544*5774.
It shows using Host Print Transform function to translate ASCII
streams,
including PDF files, and sending them to non IPDS printers. Are you
creating PDF files with another product?
