And as far as zipping a save file, with V5R4 and dtacpr(*high) it's a waste of time. I did some tests and
the amount of space saved when zipping up a save file
saved with dtacpr(*high) is minimal.

We only have anecdotal evidence, and tend not to use DTACPR(*HIGH) (does that option even exist on anything we've got? We only have boxes up to V5R2), but we like ZIPping our save files when sending them, unless we have full control over what's going on at both ends of an FTP link, in part because ZIP files (being a common format) usually don't get mangled in transmission. Other formats, particularly when sent by email, don't always fare so well. (I've lost count of the number of times I've seen TEXT mangled by email, particularly when the mailer is some POS that tries to send everything as HTML.)
