Charles,

You don't a "SQL license" to use SQL on an iSeries. The runtime support
for executing SQL is built into the DB.

The only time you need license program 5722ST1 DB2 Query Mgr and SQL
DevKit is to compile a program with embedded SQL or to use STRSQL to
run SQL interactively.

As long as you have one box with 5722-ST1, you can compile the that uses
SQL and use the program on any iSeries.

HTH,

Subject: Re: How to call a remote program and getting a
return value intoapassed parameter?

Hi!

I printed your answer and I gave it to my project manager.
Personnaly, I
think that it is an interesting answer. He will decide which
technologies he
can use for this project. We cannot use SQL because our other
server doesn't
have SQL licence installed and we want a solution that works on both
servers...

If anyone have other suggestions, they are welcome...

Charles
