I have an 825 coming off lease. I'm planning on migrating one of the 5
partitions to my 870.
Both systems P0 are at v5r3 and the partition is also at v5r3. Neither
system has an HMC.

My plan is to physically move the DASD from system to system, rather
than an unload/reload.
I have all my hardware in place. I have identified my load source
drives and mirrored sets.

I will bring down the 870 to only P0 and create the new partition.

My question is do I need to take any special steps such as 'Recover
configuration data' ?
I think the DASD in the new partition on the 870 will have the LPAR info
from the 825.

My thinking is that I will need to bring up the newly migrated partition
to DST and then run
the LPAR 'Recover configuration data to refresh the new 870 partition
data over the old 825 info.

Can anyone confirm the needed steps, or is this not even needed?
