No this doesn't fly. Bryan was right, set the TCP/IP Interface that associates with the PPP link to the IXS/IXA server (Usually something like 192.168.nnn.1) this will cause the thing to come up with TCP/IP. If you try to autostart the controller or device then you get a rather messy error that says 'Um, nice idea but I can't talk to this guy!' and it quits.
