No, I'm not saying that, but IBM's diagnosis tools are much more precise in internal DASD, as opposed to the blob of external DASD. They can look and see if arms, cache or whatever is your issue, but when external DASD is used, they just k now it's a DASD problem. IMHO, one of the reasons that you buy an AS/400 is to have one number to call when it breaks. One responsibility, one number. I wouldn't even entertain an IBM SAN solution.
