Justin,
Thanks for your input. My main concern was that the Win guy does not have
any knowledge of RPG programming. So, your input was really beneficial.
Also, he has tons of enthusiasm and we are sending him to an RPG training
course in September. It just happened that we had to do this training before
that due to business reasons. One point though...the Win guy does not have
extensive knowledge about all the commands on the System i but on the other
hand he knows quite a few commands.

Thanks again for your input,

Jake.

I'd imagine your Win guy should be OK, after hearing this description of
his skills. The setup and operation of iTera seems pretty
straightforward, not too filthy. No RPG is necessary to run a
replication environment for any vendor on System i.

Sounds like your RPG guy is about ready to retire. =) Send your
Windows guy, he'll be a System i convert in about 6 months.

Ron, Al;
Thanks a lot for the responses. I appreciate it. The RPG guy is not very
interested in going and we are just taking volunteers but the Win guy is
very interested in going. He does know quite a bit about remote
journaling as compared to the RPG guy. I want the RPG guy to go but he
is a senior member of our team and we cannot be coercive with him...:).
The Win guy does not know any RPG programming but knows all our PF's and
dB structure pretty well and has good knowledge about remote journaling.
We are at a catch 22 right now but I really appreciate your input and
that is what I was exactly looking for.

Thanks again,

Jake.
