Any y'all doing VPN FTP to GEIS now experiencing troubles?

We've been successfully doing VPN FTP to GEIS now for awhile. Starting
last night it fell apart. Me and another guy got yanked from vacation. I
can see part of the actual EDI data in an i5 comm trace. However, the way
its been explained to me is that some packets are dropped and mostly the
sequence numbers are out of whack (according to IBM guy who looked at our
comm trace and our sniffer trace). GEIS worked well with IBM. Then we
tried a few things on our own. Just about ready to get GEIS back
involved. We also have a Cisco rep on site (tied up in something else -
try to explain to my wife why something else would be more important than
something that yanked me from vacation!).

My first, and most basic question, is if any of you were doing this, are
you just starting to have problems (possible GEIS related)? Or do we need
to look harder at our Cisco setup and our VPN provider?
