RE: CVTDAT TOSEP(*NONE) not working?

In this context, I believe the term "separators" is best interpreted, 
"separators added to the contents of the data field for output." The "-" 
characters in an L data type field, today being '2006-07-07' are actually 
*part of* the data; visible using a utility such as DBU, for example. If 
that interpretation is adopted, the behavior of the CVTDAT command is 
quite logical.

But it makes no sense to me to have the ability to say TOSEP(*NONE) if
