I believe it also has something to do with Oracle sales & marketing. Oracle has some very exciting seminars in some very nice spots, and has attractive people to entertain visiting potential customer decision-makers. It sometimes surprises me how these personal touches add to a decision maker's feeling of loyalty to a company.

That is not to say the IBM staff is unattractive... or that IBMers don't know how to properly present their wares. Do you get what I am trying to say?
