Dave,

Reading a forum like Midrange-L for your news is almost like watching TV for your world news - it is all about sensationalism and there is no requirement for any depth. Especially news about COMMON. There are vocal members here who are anti-COMMON, and through their noise, it would seem COMMON is hurting. This is simply personal animosity and speculation. COMMON is not dead, by any means. The satisfied COMMON members are not running around stirring up the dust.

Don't think we are COMMON members unless the sale of a System i5 from
IBM automatically makes us a member. So, don't see how we can make any
such requests to COMMON. It seems all we can do is put in any
"requests" to our IBM rep.

Any idea of what it takes to join, especially in the way of money and
what the ROI is? Looking at the discussions on the forum, it seems
like it is a dying organization because many member's shops have
converted or are going to convert off the System i5. Hope that isn't
true.

Thanks,

Dave
