Well...

The new save of splf's from an OS level is only in v5r4, but there's also the caveat that to restore them, you either restore the whole outq or you have to buy BRMS to be able to restore individual SPLFs...

Now, there's also been a spool save package out there that does a nice job of regular spool save/restore...www.worksright.com

saving the objects in qspl isn't going to work unless you really plan on writing your own code...nothing I recommend in that area off hand for the novice to try to do....
