Rob,

Why would we bother? We cannot get a green vs. gui debate "right".

SOA is Architecture that is the best practices of the approaches we have tried to date. It is being worked on by brilliant minds and thought leaders who have a much better view of business than is reflected inside these programmer walls.

Maybe you are aware simply of the acronym? Maybe you heard if from one of the bandwagon riders? If you have ever heard it called SOwA, then you are probably also unaware of the truth of SOA.

I suggest we review how SOA fits the System i world - a far more productive debate than attempting to reinvent the wheel, the automobile, the house, public transport, kitchen appliances, and IT architecture.

I am aware of SOA but I am not at all sure that it is the only or the
best way forward. Anyway, if we have a discussion, we can workout the
merits of different methods including SOA

Best wishes

Rob
