As soon as iSeries name came out, I started using it, but was corrected by IBMer ... what we have is NOT an iSeries, it is an AS/400 ... the iSeries is what we would replace our model 170 with if and when we upgrade.

Another alternative name for "Green Screen" is NC meaning "Network Computer" as opposed to "Personal Computer" but the name never caught on. The idea was that the terminal can access all the business network functions but has limited local capabilities outside those authorized by the business.

I propose that henceforth and forevermore the interface
formerly known as 'Green Screen' shall be known as

I have found it virtually impossible to get my users to remember.
* If there is an error message on bottom of screen
* Get cursor there (which I find easier to do with mouse)
* Press F1 (which I find easier to do with keyboard)
* Now you have full details on what the message means, and your choices

And, how many
> people know that Alt+DownArrow will show the contents of a list/combo
> control?


Or that F4 does the same thing.  This should be especially easy for iSeries
users to remember since F4 is the typical "prompt" keystroke.
