I gotta tell you folks, using iSeries Navigator to set up 6 new LPARs
once they were up on-network and communicating - FANTASTIC. As long as
it was command-based, I could use iSeries nav to send it to a group of
systems and do all at once - sysvals, outqueues, device config,
jobscde's - A GARGANTUAN TIMESAVER! PTF compares, sysval compares, user
profile distribution - amazing.

Plus, being able to do HMC console from my desk - perhaps the best ever.
It's soooo much better now than we've ever had it before.

Douglas,

Sure changing for the sake of change doesn't make much sense.

But I'd be willing to bet that in most cases, you could find some
improvements in changing from green screen to GUI.

The ROI might take a while, but eventually it would pay off.

Not to mention that you wouldn't have to worry about a CEO/CIO being
convinced to get rid of the "legacy" system in favor of something
modern.
