iSeries Navigator is both an end user tool and a systems user tool.
It's security does not 'compromise' i5/os security.  If they can't see a 
spool file with WRKSPLF, then they can't see it with iNav.
If you're freaking out about the users using the database option, or some 
other option, do not follow the 'security by obscurity' principle and only 
install that option - (that can easily be installed later).  Instead, 
right click on the system name and select Application Administration.  You 
can lock down options quite granularily.
One can also create 'shortcuts' on the users desktop by right clicking on 
spool files and dragging it to the desk top.
