Hi, Steve:

The "Copy Objects" screen is part of PDM and is a "front-end" to the various copy commands.

To prove this to yourself and your colleague, go to the PDM main menu (STRPDM), then press F18=Change Defaults, page down and change "Log option commands" to "Y" and press Enter.

Then use 3=Copy (from WRKOBJPDM) and after you copy different object types, you can press F10 (twice) in PDM to see the commands that were issued.

Cheers,

Mark S. Waterbury

Subject: CRTDUPOBJ vs. option 3 on WRKOBJPDM

What is the difference between CRTDUPOBJ and option 3 (Copy) on the WRKOBJPDM panel? I know that option 3 on WRKOBJ does a CRTDUPOBJ (it says so right on the screen) but option 3 on WRKOBJPDM does a 'Copy Objects' which does not appear to be accessible from a command line.

Why do I want to know? A consultant claims that the two are different and I don't believe him!

Thanks,

Steve
