The things I'm interested in are the create date, the allocated size, and the object name and type, i.e., *DIR or *STMF, and these are the only fields I select in my query. Some of the other fields may contain non-displayable data and should be omitted in the query definition.

Query/400 will give you a message that the file may contain DBCS data, but just ignore it. I use queries with the file regularly.

If you're at V5R3 or greater, you can use the RTVDIRINF command. Be advised that you do need to change the CCSID of the job where the command is run to something other than the default 65535. I use 037.

Hi, I'd like to see a report of all the objects in a single IFS directory and

all its subdirs.

I've used CALL PGM(QSRSRV) PARM(METRICS '/mydir/mysubdir') but I get a single

report for each directory.

Should I run a SAV to *print or does anyone have anything like a dsplib to

*print for the IFS.

Thanks, Frank
