Hi Katy

The QUSRJOBI API returns a data structure rather than a list of jobs and you
need to specify the fully qualified job name to retrieve the information.
The v5r4 API documentation can be found at: http://tinyurl.com/fecpw

It sounds like you would need to run the QUSLJOB API which will return a
list of all jobs that match your criteria to a user space which would need
to be created first. You would specify the qualified job name as "jobname
*ALL *ALL ". The QUSLJOBI documentation is at
http://tinyurl.com/rl6yb

Hope it helps

Jonathan

Subject: API's

I am trying to retrieve job information (job number) using QUSRJOBI API.
Do I have to create a user space and retrieve the list space first or can I
just send the api the job name without doing all that. I know what the job
name is.

What I am trying to accomplish is:   I need to end a job;  run a program;
and submit the job back. I know the job name but I have to have the number
in order to end it or I get a duplicate job error msg.

Thanks
