RE: File updates when subsystem ended

I haven't done interactive programming for a while, but if a screen is in
DSPW, the controlling program doesn't ever receive control to update the
file. You can force a timeout on the display, and the controlling program
would need to check if it's being ended - I think it's the SHTDN built-in
function or opcode.

It's the same issue if you set the automatic logout system value QINACTITV.

Is there anything I can do to force updates to disk when subsystem
ended*immed.
Would a controlled ending for 60 seconds be any better?
Had instance where order was up on screen, subsystem ended, and some files
updated and others not. 
This is an old app that was writing a work file, and the work file records
missing.
