I think that is the best way to admin that area.  I also create a couple
profiles for the senior admin's who will be working in there.  That also
creates accountability for anything that is worked on in there, and auditors
like that!

As someone else said CHGDSTPWD isn't a bad option.

I always add myself as an additional SST user.  Seems that the boss often 
fat fingers the password for sst-qsecofr and I got tired of having to jump 
through hoops to reset it.  So now I log on as myself and reset it.
