        I remember something like this happened to us.  I believe that
it was caused by an IP address conflict.  Does some other device on your
network have the same address?

You're trying to start it, how?  iSeries Navigator or from a command
line?  
Please provide more details about what you are doing and what you are

I am stumped. I've checked the swtich, cable, and whatnot.
