There is an option in concurrent maintenance to flash the light.  I always 
do that prior to adding/removing drives, cards, etc.  Let's me know I've 
got the right slot.

The biggest trick is getting the resource name right.

There is an option in iSeries Navigator to do this.  Click on the pretty 
diagram of which box and which slot you are sticking the drive into. 
Couldn't get it to work last time and I'm kicking myself because that 
would have been an opportune time to open a pmr.  We weren't in that much 
of a hurry for the new drive.  I suspect even IBM has a tough time getting 
the resource name right, and that's why the iNav was failing.
