RE: emailing from application on the iSeries

I'll second the recommendation for Brad Stone's MailTool/Spooltool package.
It's inexpensive, it works well, and it's very easy to use.

Dave,

We've used both the QtmmSendMail API, and used SNDDST fairly
extensively, but finally got around to buying Brad Stone's MAILTOOL
utility (www.bvstools.com), which is very inexpensive.

You'll spend far more money in programmer time learning the API than you
would just buying the tool.  We got it because the aforementioned
wrapper for the API doesn't do the base64 encoding for attachments, and
it looked like it was going to be yet another learning curve to get that
piece fit in.

Brad even has an extra piece you can get with the tool that will
completely bypass the Iseries STMP, so you don't need to set any of that
up if you prefer not to.
