We use Ops Nav for this purpose.
1. The EOM person generates various reports ... those that came with the applications software, our modifications, and query/400 listings. 2. That same person uses Ops/Nav to locate the reports, and copy them to a folder on PC, changing the name of the TXT file to something meaningful such as TOPIC and FISCAL DATE. Actually several PC folders, named after WHO to get the reports, and perhaps year.
3. This TXT file is then attached to standard e-mail.

Problems:
* Some reports are 198 print positions (compressed) which is unfriendly to people with standard 8 1/2 x 11 PC printers, even doing landscape printing (massive wraparound). * An intermediate human step needed to get the TXT file into proportional print (so everything stays lined up nice)

Thus some reports need to be modified to make them PC friendly.

Also, the end users of these reports often import them into Excel, which means they need to be made XL-friendly, meaning avoid having multiple vertical lines of different kinds of data in the same column, and minimize the page headers, sub-totals on the report being sent to XL.

We have a large number of month-end reports that are produced by queries
which are printed and distributed each month. Is there a way to have these
e-mailed directly to the recipients without purchasing any additional
software? If software is necessary, is there anything that will do the trick
cheaply? Please be as detailed as time allows
