Thanks

When we upgraded to our current versions of OS/400 and BPCS, we got all the needed PTFs, and we also got chunks of them later (BPCS calls them BMRs). The software has been stable for some time.

I suspect either how they running the software, or some combination of garbage in our data, that the program is not properly anticipating, comparable to divide by zero. I have not got any complaints about it unable to release shop orders on essential items, so until they tell me different, I am assuming this is extra garbage that is occurring, not something getting in the way of the job appearing to run to a conclusion.

There's always tension over stuff that may or may not be a factor this time around.
Not enough paperwork. Too much paperwork.
Wrong data printing on some paperwork, but they cannot supply me any explicit examples for me to research. "Business rules" incorporated into the program, then the rules changed without telling the programmer.

Vernon wrote about latest PTFs and calling IBM tech support.

We are now on a competitor of IBM for hardware support because IBM has GREAT tech support, with accounting in the toilet. For other reasons we on a 3rd party for BPCS tech support.

I hoping to figure this out without calling them, since having someone else fix it does not make me a better programmer.
