I heard the story from a fellow student at one of the IBM classes from a person who claimed to have worked on the actual conversion attempt ... the one to move the AS/400 application to Windoze server farm before they gave up. There is a process of getting the files to interlink with the business rules, that ran for a whole weekend and did not get done, and they had no way of calculating how long it should take. The story seemed a bit far fetched to me. You know how some people make up stories that seem plausible.

I am not doubting you Al, but I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't
use their own products exclusively.
