For PC, passwordsafe @ http://passwordsafe.sourceforge.net/ It's open
source. Uses Blowfish encryption scheme.

$29.95 according to http://www.splashdata.com/splashid/purchase.htm . There
may be cheaper or even free equivalent products around; I looked when I
purchased it and most didn't have what I consider to be adequate encryption.
Anything proprietary or "secret" is worthless; it's not reasonable to trust
an encryption scheme that hasn't passed a peer review. Acceptable
encryption schemes would include 3DES, AES, or blowfish.

You can also search palmgear.com, handango.com, or some other PDA sites like
treocentral.com for alternatives.

What's the cost of splashid? That seems better than keeping them on
paper just like in this thread, offsite and in my house.

I use SplashID on my Treo: http://www.splashdata.com/splashid/ . It's
available for several platforms.

That way I only have to remember the one password to get in to SplashID; my
other pwds are stored in the app. It also proves handy for storing web site
IDs & pwds and lots of other little bits of info.

SplashID's database is AES-encrypted so the backup copy on your PC (done
when hotsyncing) is still safe from prying eyes.

Or just put the passwords in Notepad and encrypt the file using some PC
utility. Or encrypt the entire PC (I use PGP Desktop's Whole Disk
Encryption).
