Sounds good... i'd like to learn more about that API you found.  We're
mainly trusting the cable and just checking to be sure that our monitoring

Once it's working (soon I hope) I plan on an additional failsafe.  In
addition to the UPS monitoring program (which monitors the UPS message
queue), I'm going to stick a job scheduler job in there that checks every
15
minutes via this API for UPS attachment.  If not, send a message.
