Whacha want for the 2nd partition? If Linux it's easy
because no 
hardware is needed. If OS/400 you must have an expansion
such as a 5095 
or 5075 and the disk controller, disk, and console card for
that 
partition must be in that cabinet. In other words while it
can be done, 
it's notsoflexible. I also seem to recall that early 270's
(which are 
getting old now!) don't have the correct CPU to support
fractional 
LPAR.  I reserve the right to be wrong on that (I've slept
since then)
