WAN & LAN protocols, April 2005
The i5/OS operating system has long term support and development plans for many key industry WAN and LAN protocols. These include TCP/IP, PPP, Async, Bisync, Ethernet, and various SNA protocols via Enterprise Extender.

In going over the announcement notes for V5R4, I have not found any official statements from IBM regarding the end of support on bisync. V5R4 should still support it, although I cannot verify it since I have no one to try it with. Since the next Version/Release should be about 24 months out, you should be good for a bit yet.

A better questions is, why bisync? Most of the banks and governments that use bisync have moved to another really old transport called TCP.... ;-)
