There are a few really excellent paging options for the 400.

1) Help Systems solution actually required 2 products to do what some of the
other solutions do, and they are a little pricier...But you get what you pay
for. They have a wonderful utility that allows any command or program to be
executed while system is in restricted state. This allows for great
flexibility when scheduling unattended activities. You would need to buy
Robot Alert and Robot Console. Their tech support is also an industry
standard.
2) Bytware's Messanger Plus - This is also a very powerful solution with
very good tech support. This company is expanding their offerings into
other solutions such as security and anti-virus. A solid choice.
3) Icom - I used Icom at my last company and it was a very solid performer
without some of the bells and whistles of the above choices.

Hope this helps.

Subject: iSeries Paging Software

I am interested in looking at paging software and I need to get a
variety of options. What do you use if any? Whats done the job for
you the best? Requirements, must be able to get messages out in
restricted state. I am currently looking at Robot/Alert from
Helpsystems. Thanks for your insight.
