John:

I've used the NFS support for seven or eight years with great results. We use
it today to store .SAVF images on cheap Linux disk for example, making them
quickly available if needed but out of the way for most purposes. I've also
used it in one bizarre complex Windows network to help in tracking down a
cross-domain-trust issue that the network guys couldn't resolve fast enough. I
also used it from an AS/400 in Sacramento to update info on an HP3000 (IIRC) in
Boston -- worked very well.

With a little practice, you might happily leave /QNTC behind. There are some
pretty good NFS servers available for Windows.
