It's probably overridden to file INPUT, as in

OVRDBF FILE(INPUT) TOFILE(MYFTPCMDS)
FTP RMTSYS('some.ftp.site')
DLTOVR FILE(INPUT)

You can also override file OUTPUT to see the results of the FTP process.
