I used this nifty 'new' thing called iSeries navigator <g>

On those that worked, *PUBLIC had *CHANGE from an authorization list
On those that failed (.PDF), *PUBLIC had *RWX, no authorization list
involved.

The PDF files are actually supposed to be secured by that same autl.  Hmmm,
wonder why _that's_ not happening.
