Thanks ken, ibm's karen stanly has been patient w/me and also sent me this
link. I want to save definitions because if any part of the MQ config gets
modified in any way I want to quickly re-create it and restoring it would b/the
easiest thing to do.

Yes you can save an message queue and restore it. Try this link. Download the
software and follow the directions. After running the tool, Save and restore
the library (MS03) from test to your PRD LPAR. Just follow the directions and
you'll have no troubles.

I've used this tool from IBM when upgrading to newer versions of MQSeries.
Saved and recreated the entire QManager structure.

But, it might be easier to write a CL PGM to recreate the message queues when
needed. Create MQ Queue (CRTMQMQ)

subject: MQ Question

Hi, does anyone know if it's possible to save and restore the MQ config
of just 1 queue? I have a test and prod LPAR and want to move a newly
created queue manager to the prod LPAR. If I could save/restore it I
wouldn't have to create it again.

Frank
