I would check for more information in the BRMS log via the DSPLOGBRM
command.

The advantage of the BRMS log is the fact it should have all the messages
you need there, with no need to check anywhere else.

But if you feel you still want to look further, check the joblog of the
interactive job trying to verify the tape and the QSYSOPR message queue.

By the way, when you say you are trying to verify the tape, I don't
understand exactly what you are doing.  Are you verifying media movement or
?
