This utility is nice. I took a look at a couple "promising" keywords but continue to be disappointed. CNTFLD is nice for making a rectangular text block on a screen, instead of wrapping to column 1. This is at least better looking.

Then I see the WRDWRAP keyword, which displays text with breaks between words. I put this keyword on the CNTFLD I mentioned above (125 long in a block 25 wide). Note the word "displays". It does NOT automatically break text when entering. Secondly, if you change anything, the blanks that appear at the end in a CNTFLD are actually part of the text.

Now a CNTFLD is actually multiple fields under the covers, although treated as a single field in enhanced displays (such as iSeries Access emulation). On a non-enhanced display they would be treated as separate fields, and I bet the CHECK(ER) technique would work. Of course, I can't test this in iSeries Access or PC5250 emulator.
