Mea culpa - I just had a look at the DDS, and it is keyed on these
fields (along with about 10 others).

I am subscribed on RPG-400, but I wasn't sure if this was a Midrange or
RPG question. :)

Are you using traditional I/O like SETLL/READE then no, it won't.
Are you using SQL I/O then yes it will.

Frankly I can't see how the SETLL/READE would have worked without the 
proper key.

Do you subscribe to the RPG list?  You really should ask this question 
over there.  There's been a lot of discussion very recently that the
READE 
is a dog, and why.  And that you'd be better served doing your own 
checking for the E part.
