Try GO CFGTCP and select option 12. Change TCP/IP domain information.

If "Host name search priority" is *LOCAL, change to *REMOTE or vice-versa. 


Not sure why this has an impact, but we periodically run into this problem 
with customers.

I think I've mentioned this once or twice before in 
connection with other issues, but never really heard 
anything useful about it.

Would anybody happen to know why a "slim" 170 running V4R4 
would take an absurdly long time to send something to 
another system by scripted FTP? It seems like the 
bottleneck occurs when the other system's FTP server is 
initially contacted.
